BUSINESS SCHOOL NETWORK MEETING 2023 AT HS AALEN
The Business School (BS) at the German Jordanian University held its annual network meeting at The Applied University of Aalen.
The meeting was attended by several academics from four German universities (namely TH Köln, DHBW Mosbach, FH Nürtingen-Geislingen, and TH Würzburg-Schweinfurt). While GJU was represented by the school`s exchange coordinators Dr. Serena Sandri (from the Logistics department) and Dr. Ahmad Abu Dawleh (from the International Accounting department), Dr. Fathi Alarabi Yosef (from the Management department) along with the exchange officer Ms. Lara Nassar and the network coordinator Iris Wildfeuer from the International Affairs Department.
During the meeting, the Exchange Coordinators presented their department's updates. The Exchange Officer Lara Nassar presented the exchange motilities at the school, including the German partners’ network. This gave room to various discussions and feedback from the partners related to the exchange, as well as stressing the importance of expanding the partner network to accommodate GJU`s rising student numbers during the German Year. This also affects the new study program in Business Intelligence and Data Analytics (BIDA) presented by Dr. Fathi Alarabi Yosef. Other venues of collaboration were also explored such as research collaborations, with a suggested topic in corporate governance within the context of Islamic banking, presented by Dr. Ahmad Abu Dawleh.
Various discussions followed on research collaboration and partner acquisition as well as on methods to increase incoming student numbers at GJU.
The second day of the meeting began with a lab tour at HS Aalen, 4.0 facilities, and the HS Aalen Innovation Centre. Afterwards, some updates at GJU were presented by Network Coordinator Iris Wildfeuer with a focus on the new concept of the Hosted Programs in collaboration with THWS as well as the new majors in nursing and design and media informatics
